Hong Kong Scene Building Contest 2008
Hong Kong Scene Building Contest 2008 was hosted by LEGO Company Limited (Hong Kong), it is well known as LHK. More than 50 LEGO designs were submitted and 10 of the designs were selected to display for public.
The HK Scene Buildings must be made by LEGO materials. It was allowed to decorate the design by lighting, sound, motor or other electrical/electronic effect. The model size was range from 15”x15”x15” to 3’x3’x3’. The mark depended on the proportion of using LEGO, building technique, creativity, appearance, topic, details, and introduction.
Top 10 products were displayed in “Animation-Comic-Game Hong Kong” (ACGHK), located in Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, because LEGO Company Limited (Hong Kong) had a large kiosks and display this year. ACGHK had attracted over 618 thousand people. Over 30 thousand visitors had voted the LEGO buildings independently.
It is so proud that 4 HKLUG members’ products were selected in top 10. The followings are their LEGO models and descriptions.
Murray House (美利樓) by Andy Bear
Murray House is a Victorian-era building in Stanley in Hong Kong. The building is relocated from Central. Built in 1844, it is part of Murray Barracks when Hong Kong was under the 4th year of British rule as a crown colony. It was named after Sir George Murray, the British Master-General of the Ordnance at the time of construction. The designer and constructor are Major Aldrich and Lieutenant Collinson of the Royal Engineers. It was initially used as barracks by the British military. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murray_House)

Magic Kingdom (神奇王國) by Antony Lau

Cultural Centre (文化中心) by Chiu-Keung
The Hong Kong Cultural Centre is a multipurpose performance facility in Tsim Sha Tsui of Hong Kong. Located at Salisbury Road, it was founded by the former Urban Council and, after 2000, is administered by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department of Hong Kong Government. It is a place for a wide variety of cultural performances.
