Congratulation to LEGO Ambassador, ChiuKeung
Wednesday, August 27th, 2008It is a big day of HKLUG (Hong Kong LEGO Users Group).
We would like to share the happiness that 3 HKLUG members won the Hong Kong Scene Building Contest 2008. They are ChiuKeung, Antony Lau and Vincent.
Vincent designed the LEGO scene of Times Square and won the 3rd glory. It is the highest building (2’11”) among all competition models.
Times Square is always prosperous in real. Vincent had designed a lot of interesting scenes on the streets as well as inside the buildings. There were cinema, playground, jewelry shop, garden, ninja fight, spaceship base, and laboratory full in the commercial building. Visitors enjoyed finding out how humorous created by LEGO.

Antony Lau designed the LEGO scene of Magic Kingdom and won the 2nd glory. Antony always wishes to share his fairy tales with others and had chosen the Castle in Disneyland as the competition topic.
The Hong Kong Disneyland was opened on September 12, 2005. It is one of newest scenic spot recently. Magic Kingdom is the theme of Hong Kong Disneyland. Antony designed the Magic Kingdom Castle with many classic Disney LEGO mini-figures such as Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goffy.
The Castle was built on a base of 10 cm height. In front of the base, a mosaic of the word “Disneyland” was built with transparent brick. Colorful lighting effect was installed inside the base, so that the “Disneyland” was changing color in random.

ChiuKeung designed Hong Kong Cultural Centre and won the 1st glory. He has spent more than 250 hours to prepare and over 10 thousand bricks to build up the module of sized 3’(l) x 3’(w) x 2’(h).
Hong Kong Cultural Centre is a multipurpose performance facility in Tsim Sha Tsui of Hong Kong. It is an irregular building with many curve surfaces. ChiuKeung showed up his amazing building technique to make the surfaces of the LEGO model smooth. He also built Clock Tower, a well-known landmark in Hong Kong, beside Hong Kong Cultural Centre.
A Symphony of Lights is a synchronized building exterior decorative light and laser multimedia display, featuring buildings on both sides of the Victoria Harbor of Hong Kong accompanied by symphonic music. It is organized by the Hong Kong Tourism Board. Displayed every night w at 8pm Hong Kong Time, the show is an orchestration of music, decoration lights, laser light displays, and pyrotechnic fireworks. Chiu-Keung modeled a similar lighting effect on his Hong Kong Cultural Centre as well. The building was lighted up with different color in random by time.
